How good are these?

I've seen Rossi stuff for around $100-$200 in calibers I'd like to plink around with, but how good are they?

I'm not expecting a $200 .308 to make a 800 meter shot perfectly every time, but is the machining any good? Will it just fall apart? Or is this the best kept secret ever?

How's the customer service? Parts replacement? Aftermarket stuff?

I'm just curious is all. :]

I have owned a Rossi

20 gauge rifled slug gun for, I suppose, about three years.
It has exceeded all my expectations for accuracy and has never had a problem as to either parts or reliability.

So, from my one point of perspective, I am a happy Rossi camper.

I own a .308 Rossi. I`m stuck with it, I`ve been told you wouldn`t get 80 bucks for it.

It kicks like a premenstrual Donkey. You need to wait maybe 15 mins between shots to get any sort of group out of it at 100 yards.

Its light ( one reason it kicks ) its a break action so its portable ( the other reason it kicks ) I put a lil 4 power scope on it I got for free and its not so bad now. I had a 3.5 - 9 Nikko Stirling on it that was just waiting to cut my eyebrow on it, but the 4X works way better, faster target aquisition etc.

Its got it`s uses, with the right handloads it`ll get the job done, mine has when my main rifle flew out of a farm car and lost its zero.

If you see one cheap ( I mean CHEAP! ) yeah its fun in a masochistic sorta way.

You could spend you money far more wisely on a carefully selected rifle from the used rack of the gun store though.

I'm not worried about accuracy or shooting rapidly.
I know the limits of it in that sense.

I just want to know if they work good... lol
