SS 8 shot Blackhawk 327 Mag

These are listed in the local Distributor's catalog but not in Ruger's 2010.They were out of stock but I placed a backorder on it anyway just to try it out. Looks like it could be a fun little shooter/fishing gun. Does anyone have any experience with one?

nice gun though it is heavy. shoots great. was a little suprised at the power of the 327. I will admit that I have shot more 32h&r through it. Simply because I have a bunch of loaded 32 H&R laying around and don't feel like spending $20.00 A box for the 327.

When I saw it, the first thing to pop into my head was how cheap the last cast bullets were I'd seen.

Talking Ruger

Sir; the Model #KBN-3275; I believe is the one you are describing. I have looked at this model at Ruger's site online.
For info; Ruger, New Model Blackhawk

Not trying to start anything but why would anyone choose the 327 over the 357 in light of the cost and availability of the ammo for the 327. I know it has less recoil than the 357 while still packing a wallop, anything else ?? I know the manufacturers must have thought it would be a good seller because you could hardly find a 357 at the last gun show I went to,

I already have a 357 and the extra two shots adds a bit more to it's usefullness as a trail/fishing/hunting gun. And who doesn't really need a new toy?

Two more shots, and a power level more appropriate for most shooters (and perhaps to create a captive customer base foe expensive ammunition).

If the 327 Federal gained the acceptance that the 357 Magnum enjoys in the market place, the ammunition will very likely become more competitively priced. Ruger seems to have whole heartedly embraced the cartridge by chambering it in the SP101 and the GP100. Now if somebody like Marlin chambered a lever action rifle/carbine in that caliber, Para Cassatt would be all set.

Mmmm,

this is always a touchy subject but I will just say I have seen a great many good cartridges come and go in my lifetime.

There is nothing "wrong" with the .327 mag. However, it is hard for a new cartridge to develop sustained demand.

So, this cartridge may fade away.

When I first heard about a .327 Mag I just had to have one, love Rugers single actions, I have three, a Single six convertible, a .30 carbine , and the first .32 mags that were out with the adjustable sights, 4 5/8ths bbl. I also have a Smith & Wesson model 16 in .32 Mag, love the caliber, very accurate. A .327 Mag , 8 shots, a little more omph, and the option to shoot weeny .32 mags out of it!!!

I gotta have one!

Not to mention that there are a lot of 32-20 cast bullets available and they are so much cheaper. A nice little 16" barreled Marlin would be awesome or a beefed up 10/32?

Now that we're talking Chevys, I want a 409.

Suppose we can get a round named a Federal 409 CHEV-TAC?

sorry for the hi-jack Para Cassatt

I think it would be a great cartridge/new caliber. BUT, ammunition is about zero here, with the only ammo available priced at 20/$22 for "personal protection" bullets (if you can find them, more than once?). There are no 32 S&W, 32 long, 32 mag, no brass, no bullets for reloading. Yes, I reload, but I need something to start with. I'll take a "wait & see" attitude, but the Ruger GP100 looks great. Hope ammo follows!

I recieved them today with a case of American Eagle 100 gr. SP ammo. The only other ammo available at the time I ordered was Personal Defense stuff by 3 to 4 different makers. So it's beginning to become a little more available if our one trick pony distributor has it. GOOD LOOKING GUNS too.

Good deal P/C. Give us a little report when you get a chance to shoot it.
