Smile Ruger African?

Local dealer has a Ruger Hawkeye .375 in excellent shape for 625.00. Is this a good deal? And also it doesn't have the sling swivel on the barrel,it has it on the stock. Is this an early model?Don't know if he has the box or not,but the Rifle looks and appears unfired.Nice handling Rifle and nice wood also.Nice Gun for those pesky Grizzly's and Cape Buffalo that wander and get to close to the bird feeder.Lol.....

Big questions

As with any niche caliber you are looking at future scarcity and high pricing on ammo. The .375 Ruger has not really developed any traction in the marketplace especially when compared to the .375 H and H.

If you really want this rifle in this caliber I would open at $400.00 and see where the negotiation goes.

If you buy this gun I would be ready to really stock up on some cases for reloading.

At nearly $3.00 per shot you may want to think about the residual cost involved.

I am sure the rifle is really nice and the price is good.

Think twice about it before you buy, instead of suffering buyer's remorse lster and being stuck with a rifle you can't afford to shoot.

I'm not trying to talk you out of procuring this weapon, just recommending you think about it a bit.

Reloading is going to be a no brainer here.Have the bullets for My H&H,probably wouldn't shoot it much.Might use it for Bear around here, maybe a future Moose Hunt.Have a perfect scope already here,a 2-7 Leupold Vari x 2 in matte finish. All I need is Dyes and Cases.Have about 1.5 pounds of RL-15 to stuff em with.

What the hey...since you got a plan...go for it, the price is good. The thing has an MSRP of over a grand (new).

Let us know how she shoots.

Try to get him down to $550-575...after all it is used...

Hawkeyes are probably the best bang for Your buck right now.Walnut stock,Mauser style action, and etc.Ruger was always the best bang for Your buck on most weapons.Thats why I have 8 or 10 of them here.

You'll get a lot more use and enjoyment out of that GP100.
