| Redhawk-My Latest Big Bore
One of my latest big bores, a Ruger Redhawk in 45 Colt. ![]() ![]() The Tyler T-Grip really improves the factory grips. The Ruger grips make the Redhawk feel like you are firing a cannon on a broomstick. What the factory grips lack, is front to back depth, and the T-Grip solves that. Very cheap, and well worth it. Another grip option is the Butler Creek rubbers: ![]() They are a great design, but I never have liked the "greasy" feel of rubber grips. I'd love to find a set exactly like this in WOOD! Here a couple close ups of the Williams fiber optic front sight . I like it a lot. Very easy to pick up, and it glows even under very low light. ![]() |

I once had a friend who had a Ruger Redhawk in .44 mag that we took to the range often. It was a hand cannon, for sure. It bruised the palm quite a bit. He had Hogue or Pachmyr grips to replace the wooden ones. I also like the fiber optic sights. I put one on my Buckmark.

Very nice gun. Your photo work is original too. I like it. My FIL has used one to hunt Javelina in AZ. A very select few have had issues w/ them as anyone would with any firearm. (Don't get dog lips going Oh, My manners. Ah hem, A big G&G welcome Sir :right: |

I too had a problem with the redhawks grips. Gun shoots like a dream but the grips dug a hole in my supporting hand. Bought some Hogue rosewood finger grips, but found the too big for my hands. Brought out the Fordom tool and carved them to size and checkered the palm side only and put a relief for the thumb. What a world of difference. Can use HK reloaders without any problems. Anything I can see I can hit. Unbeleivable the accuracy, it's keeper. I have the 7" barrel on mine and I like that sight you used. Looks like I'll be getting one.
