Cool Ruger Old army

I recently aquired a ruger old army. An exellent quality pistol, it shoots well with both black powder & pyrodex. The only shortcoming is the fact that fowling tends jam up the cylinder and action. Has anyone used Pioneer powder in Ruger black powder revolvers or any others? Perhaps its cleaner burning characteristics may ease functioning problems...:flame:
