Talking fixed!

[QUOTE=DaTeacha;883074]Is this your first centerfire autoloader? Sometimes revolver guys have this problem when they try an autoloader for the first time, especially if you've been shooting an S.A. revolver and letting it rotate in your hand.

If you aren't holding the gun firmly, some of the slide energy gets dissipated into moving the whole gun, causing the slide to not move enough with respect to the frame to properly chamber the round. Hold on tight, work at not moving with the recoil, and it should work fine, especially if it worked for the dealer.

Oh Yeah, welcome to the site! There is a lot of good advice available here, so feel free to ask.[QUOTE]

this is my 2nd semi. and today i got it firing evey shot, i ran 50 rds. and was quite pleased! i also have a keltek p-11 and luv it too, i've fired over 700 rds. thru it and no problems yet. the dealer said it sometimes takes a little breaking in period and i'm very satisfied with my purchase now that i got it going. glad i found this site!

Talking Hiya I'm New, but I'm really cool and you will like me - Hee Hee Hee

Hiya Gang, first time on board. My qualifications are: I'm old, I like to shoot and I like guns in general...I'm also a DEMOCRAT and intend to let the present WA. Administration know it, and that I vote. The times they ARE A-Changin'.
I also have no illusions about our safe, tidy "civilization" actually being ANY of those things - safe, tidy or civilized, we are our own first line of defense and Police realistically can only help you AFTER you have already been beaten to death by the Bush administrations lack of monetary policy, fiscal responsibility or the *brilliant* decision to fight a 3 front war (my Dad won a Distinguished Flying Cross for flying gas to Patton during the Battle of The Bulge and I'm no stranger to armed conflict so the fact that guys and gals are on their 5th tours ... umm,,, irritates me) I trained to journey level gunsmith '73 to '77, although I ultimately went into sales and then changed careers altogether. General thoughts on the Totally Bitchin' Ruger P-95DC although almost any Ruger will do. I LIKE Rugers and am also *very* fond of CZ Sidearms. --To 509_AK -- anything AK is dandy, look into the PISTOLS -- 12" barrel and come in 5.56 NATO and 7.62 Glorious Ex-CCCP.

In response to the thread, tighten up your grip, or shoot hell out of the gun -- you and it will come to an understanding very quickly, so don't worry at all - every Ruger I have ever owned has been rugged, accurate and ultra-reliable. The Hogue handall is a good choice but it makes the grip a tad big in my hand, I like it and it absorbs recoil well. but if there's trouble I like a death-grip on my gun. Butler Creek makes a kinda low quality slip on that does not add noticeable size to the grip but prepare to replace them more frequently that the Hogue.

Thanks to LCP-heat I'm-a gonna check out the pachmyr #3.

Lower profile snag-free sights like Glock, H+k Or the Beretta PX-4 Storm provide would be nice, but this is a full-sized duty type sidearm and isn't designed to be a compact or concealable outside something like a Maxpedition shoulder type gear/CCW bag.

Something else to consider are Decal grips (if you can find them) I find that sandpaper type skateboard platform foot grip strips can be trimmed to fit, won't peel off and one sheet will over 10 Million custom grips for any gun, well, maybe 2 million or maybe a half dozen --- i'm not sure. Anyway they're 10 bucks.

Feel the love, Merry Holidays and 'Yo!

One of the reasons I traded away my Ruger P series guns is the fact there were no accessories for them. (That and the trigger pulls seemed long and excessive) The only thing I could do was put on a couple sets of CT laser grips, and even that is not an option with a P95 Polymer frame, as the grips don't come off.

I got such a great deal on mine and it shoots great. Not worried about accessories.I think this gun will last me a lifetime. I really love the ease of breakdown and cleaning.
I like the 15 rd mags too, what a great weopen IMO.

The only thing I ever got for mine was a kydez paddle holster from Uncle Mikes. Fit was perfect and made toting and IPSC competitions a breeze.

p95

I've had mine for over a year... no problems yet.

Haven't gotten any accessories but I see plenty of sites with holsters, sights, and grips for them.

I will say that the gun shoots great, and will take just about anything you can jam in there. I haven't had even one jam from it yet.

Only thing I did notice that you should be aware of is a little snag in the safety. If you lock the slide back and release it quick all is well... however if you dont send it home and you slide it back gently you will be able to pull the trigger even if the safety is ON. At least this is the case on mine. Either way, I would be aware that it can happen.

Overall a great gun.

Hey Getemnow, welcome. I already posted in this thread, but to answer your question, I would say the major difference the typical owner will see between SS and blue is appearance - what color do you like? Does a red Camaro run better than a black one? Maybe if you were using it in a saltwater environment, like on a boat or something, the SS would have some advantage, but by and large, go with what you like. I have a couple of stainless guns, but only because they were what was available when I was in a position to buy. I like the looks of a blue gun better.

I just bought a p95 myself. I added the hogue grip and a Desantis holster. Damn good gun and very accurate right out of the box. I only complaint I have is the one magazine is hard to load, other than that no problems.
