| Registered User | My one and only Ruger I have owned only one Ruger and no longer have it. A blued Security Six in 6 inch barrel. I bought it used for $309 from a police chief in a neighboring town. The bluing was probably 85-90%. The action was 100%!! Sweet, sweet shooter! Handled Winchester 145gr 357 Silvertips very smoothly! So, why don't I still have the gun? My daughter shot it and fell in love with it. She is a single mom raising my 10 yr old granddaughter 4 hours away from me. She can keep the Ruger as long as she wants; she just can't trade or sell it. If she doesn't wish to keep it, it must come back to me. Folks, I can't pay a higher compliment than that to a gun. I will own another. |

| Senior Member | Last winter bought a used Mini 14 (blued with wood) and almost-new Mini 30 (wood with ss! ). Lots of fun, only use Wolf and about 4 mis-fires with 300 rounds in the 30. A stronger firing spring can be ordered from Brownell's. If a company (i.e. CProducts etc) finally produces a reliable higher-cap. magazine for the 30 (as is reported recently), they might just begin to counteract the vast amounts of negative comments about the Mini 30, which appear to mostly deal with so many lousy after-market magazines. They only issued larger mags for both the 14 and 30 to LEOs. They are so much fun and reliable that I sold my brand-new (Auto-Ord.) M-1 Carbine due to serious quality control problems (the bolt), even though it was fine after the factory repaired it: it was only two months old, and had never been abused, dropped etc, oiled often. You can check Mini forums at "Perfectunion.com". They have several forums for other rifles, i.e. SKS etc. Last edited by Laufer; 07-09-2008 at 02:04 AM. |

| Senior Member | My Ruger List I currently have a 180prefix Mini 14 (1977) that I traded for in the 80's, fun to shoot, but we all know about their accuracy problems. A ruger #1 in 300 win mag, great elk,and deer rifle. A 10/22 Target lam,blue-the best shooting 22 I have ever owned. A stainless birdshead Vaquero/45LC,One of my favorite shooters. A Blackhawk/Bisley in 45LC,a very accurate pistol. In the past I have had a Blackhawk, and a Redhawk in 44 mag,but after I got my Taurus Raging Bull,I traded them off. Ruger makes some very nice and accurate weapons and I will keep these for a long time. |

| Member | I have a blackhawk in 45 colt it had a 7.5 inch barrel but now it's 5.5. I've had this gun for over 20 years and it has never let me down. Also have a Vaquero in 44 mag 5.5 inch and a Bisley in 41 mag. 7.5. The 45 is my favorite. My next Ruger is going to be a 4 inch GP100 stainless. In my opinion the GP is the nicest looking double action I've ever seen. |

| Senior Member | VERY nice, Billy. I'm hoping to get a *hawk .44 Mag one of these days. As for my Rugers, I have a P95DC (decent starter 9mm, though I'd really like to have a Beretta or Glock one of these days) and my favorite gun of all, my Mark III. (Until it comes cleanin' time). Got cocobolo grips for it and the things is a tack-driver. If I could have only one gun to take to the range with me, my Mark III is it. And it doesn't get cheaper to shoot than .22LR.

| Senior Member | The p89 has issues its always shot low about 10 to 12 in. at 25 ft. but I could compensate for that because groups were ok. about 4 in. on average. Now the group are spreading out. At 25 ft. I do good to keep half my shots in a 12 in. circle. I've tried different brands and weights of ammo. They all do the same. I'd say it might be me except my sister has an old p85 that belonged to her husband before he died, I have know trouble with it at all.

| Member | I may not be the best gauge here but my first gun is a GP100 3" Stainless. My wife actually picked out the weapon and we both love it. We generally shoot 38's but occasionally shoot 357's. Everything about the gun is great, very accurate, great feel and seems very well balanced in my hand. I couldn't believe it when my wife chose that gun over the 2" S&W Airweight revolver. We're looking at purchasing our second gun now, more carry friendly and are pulling toward Ruger again. The only down side is the gun we want is...of course... the LCP with is priced through the roof for what you get. |
