Wife just bought a stainless GP100. She LOVES it! I'm jealous. If my Taurus Tracker ever gives me any more trouble, we'll have two GP100's in the house.
I've had a Mark 1 since probably 1978. I've plinked enough .22 bricks through it to build a wall! My daughters love that pistol and have both laid claim to it.

I've had a bunch over the years, all of them have been rock solid good performing guns. I now have a Ruger MKII that does not have more than 200 rounds thru it and of all the MK's I have owned this one is the only one that has ever been picky about what ammo I feed thru it. I have a Ruger Mini-14 that I have owned for close to 14 years and it had only had about 100 rounds run thru it. It hits anything I can see with my old naked eyeball. Then I have a Ruger SP101 .22 with a four inch barrel. This are hard to find and I guess other than my other revolver a S&W model 57, the little stainless, my only one by the way, Ruger .22 revolver is sweet. Bill Ruger was a genius.

Hi all.
I just bought my first Ruger last week. Ive had S&W and Taurus revolvers, but the gun store didnt have any in 357 when I went in so the guy asked me if Id like to look at the Rugers instead. Took about 4 seconds to decide to get the SP101.
Other than the rattle in the ejection pin, transfer bar and the trigger assembly parts Id say this is probably a pretty decent weapon.

My first two guns were Rugers, and I still have them both.
The first is a 22/45 MKII, stainless steel with a 5" bull barrel. I bought it new and have probably put 15 bricks of ammo through it.
The second is a 1982 Blackhawk .357 mag. with a 6 1/2" barrel, bought used. The blueing was almost gone so I Bubba'd it up with a coat of grey Duracoat from Lauer Custom Weaponry. First shot I took blew away all the coating from the front of the cylinder so I removed the finish from the cylinder and cold-blued it. Not really happy with the Duracoat, so I'm saving up to have the gun refinished professionally - going back to blueing.

so far I'v had a 10/22 and a mini 14. I'm planning on adding a 270. and a 300 mag but I don't know what model yet. With the two I already have the only bad thing I can say about them is the trigger pull weight is two high off the shelf, But its easily and pretty cheaply fixed with a new trigger asembaly.

Mark II 22cal target pistol, the most accurate gun I ever had. Some jackass broke into my house and stole it. I would love to do some target practice with that guy.

Just got a Ruger M77 MKII .25-06 Rem on Thrusday night. Put a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-10x40 on it. Haven't got shooting it yet, can't wait to see how this thing does, I've heard nothing but good things about them so I'm not worried! |

Nice looking rifle! Nice stock. Good choice for a scope. The design of the scope mounts is ingenious on them Ruger's. |
