I own a Ruger 10/22 Only thing bad about this gun is putting the bolt back in after disassembling it. Everything else is idiot-proof. Thankfully! Shoots accurate, has a few misfeeds, but it was brand new. Needs some breaking in! |

I've had many Rugers; rifles, pistols and revolvers. Never had a bad one. The newest I have is a MkIII 22/45, 4.5" bbl. This gun malfunctioned when new. I contacted a man in their service dept.(don't recall his name). He sent me a prepaid shipping package to return the gun. I kept contact with him, asked him about installing adjustable sights while he had the gun. I received the gun in due time, working perfectly, with adjustable sights, no charge for anything! ( This model comes with fixed sights, so I may have a one-off factory special.) All this happened several years back, when the MKIII models had just come out; mine has a low serial#.

| Here's my Ruger
Love mine! Does not have the adjustable sights which kinda bugs me...does that just mean it'll always shoot straight? Got it for $300 from a gun show. Had been dropped on the business end by whoever had it before me...wouldn't shoot the broad-side of a barn. Had it recrowned and did great! Love shooting it! Almost got a 44 mag at the last gun show, but I hated the grips on it...I don't know what kinda grips would have made it better, probably none. The design of the gun was just as the picture by Danjet500 further up on this page. I don't recall what model the 44 mag was. I would like some better grips for the one I have though.

Where to start! My first Ruger was a brand new Security 6 .357 Magnum with a 6" barrel in 1976, since than there have been 2 Mk 2's, 1-GP100 4", 1-SP101 2", 3-M77 Ruger Varmint Target's, 3-Vaquaro's 2-5.5" & 1-4 5/8" all 3 .45 LC, 1-Super Blackhawk 5.5" .44 Magnum, 1-Bearcat, 10-22's, 1-LCP, ect. These are the Rugers that I have been clever enough to have kept in the vault. I have never owned a bad Ruger, The Ruger Varmint Target's have taught me that I didn't have to buy my Varmint guns from gunsmiths to get a rifle that when topped with quality glass would consistantly shoot Prarie Dogs at 400 plus yards! This model again made me believe in the 22-250! The hand guns are just as impressive, when I feel that I can get by with a wheel gun for a carry gun I have no quams with the SP 101, sure the triggers are smother on the S&W's or the Colts but the Ruger will take a beating & still come back & go bang!

| I really like the gold accent on the barrel. Looks to also have a top job bluing on it also. I love that deep wet blue look and that gold accent just sets it off.

I have a 10 year old 10/22 which has done me proud. have had a few miss fires on sub sonic ammo with a silencer, it prefers the supers. Have just got a magnum research 10/22 with a carbon fibre sleeved barrel which will be living on a modified fajun stock which is under construction, about a week from getting the tru oil on it. I also have a M77 243 MK11 for snotting the wild goats, sheep and pigs out the back blocks. I'm really enjoying tinkering with the 10/22 but getting parts for deciding what is the best fit for me is hard down here in the south pacific.

sorry to bother u sir but u seem like a very knowledgeable man when it comes to the ruger pistol. ive been wondering if ruger or any other manufacturer makes a 13, 15, or 20, round magazine for the ruger p97. i just got one last week and fired it yesterday. i was surprised at how much of a recall it did not have, being a big caliber pistol. shocked me the first time i fired it with out ear protection. sounded like a cannon. think u for your time. safe shooting |

Ruger P89, maybe 8000 rounds thru it, accuracy fair, but love it. Ruger Super Single Six, maybe 2000 rounds thru it, accuracy fair to good, love it Ruger mini 14, maybe 4000 rounds thru it, accuracy poor, but still love it. Its the only auto I've ever owned that has never jammed. |
