No problems, nice kit with match barrel. It shot well with open sights, but I was surprised how well it shot with a cheap scope.
I guess I should say there is one problem. The mag well is very tight and it's a pita to remove oem mags. The solution is to use only longer mags, such as TI's.
For your viewing enjoyment.

Ruger - a fine firearm at an excellent price & it's been around since the mid to late '40's. I'm a bit disappointed with the accuracy of my Mini-14 (probably bad choice of bullet weights on my part - more experimentation needed, there). If you shoot much, you need to hand load, not just for savings, but for tailoring the round to your needs.
(1) Mini-14: Bought it in 1999. Do like it. Mine hasn't the machined ring mounts, so I have to use side mount scope or long eye relief scop, mounted on the front. Easy disassembly. Nice shooter, but need to sort out bullet weight for accuracy. Lots of accessories available & ammo is reasonable. Be sure to keep the 4 screws tight on the forend, since they hold the gas block in the barrel, but most importantly keep alignment with the block & rod. Crud from powder burn & screw looseness can cause bolt to jam in forward position.
(2) Super Blackhawk - .44 mag. Accurate. Love to shoot it, but not as much as my Python or 1911. Old models have a grooved trigger which can bite the finger after a few shots, so I need to smooth that out. Since I load mid-range power w/2400 or 4227, I need to either cut down the load or crimp tighter to prevent jams when the recoil causes bullet to back out a bit.
(3) MKII - standard, tapered, short barrel, plain sights. Absolutely love it. I feel it shoots as well as my S&W Model 41, but that could be me. Put on an after market mag release w/tang for easer mag removal (& to save my nails).
(4) MKI - bull barrel, target sights. No slide lock & magazine has follower button on opposite side, plus a longer base to keep mag release from catching during removal. Found I could use a MKII or MKIII mag by moving the follower button to the other side & file a bevel where the mag bottom entered the mag body. Bevel keeps release from catching on the mating line where bottom & body come together. Bought it used a month ago & haven't had a chance to shoot it.
(5) 10/22 - Plain Jane. What can I say. Superb shooter. Have added an after-market mag release w/tang for easier operation; aftermarket slide release for proper release; a 4 power scope (since my old eyes see blurs w/open sights); & finally, an aftermarket sear/hammer kit, which really made trigger pull a dream. The kit is much cheaper than the high dollar Volquartsen trigger assembly ($64 vs $220). Huge amount of accessories available from target barrels & trigger cranks to various military smg stocks to Gatling Gun kits.
MKIII's have some needed improvements over the MKII - proper mag release, loaded chamber flag, & key lock under the safety slot which disables the firearm. The polymer "45" frame is also available, having a different angle at the butt & a thinner feel. The Bear Cats are available, again, but not in the $75 model I knew as a kid. They are Stainless & with luck, I'll have one. I work at Cabela's & our Ruger selection is pretty good, with the SR9 now being regularly stocked. While it doesn't look like your typical Ruger, it seems to function flawlessly judging by the magazine articles.
After this rendition of "War & Peace", I finish this rant.

Rugers I had and want back;
#1 25-06. Shot flat and hit hard. Woodchucks didn't stand a chance.
Super Blackhawk .44 mag. I owned both the new style and three screw.
Blackhawk .357 mag.

Rugers I own now;
Single six convertible Liberty. Original owner. Great little revolver.
10/22 rifle. Also orginal owner. Bone stock. Bought in 1973.
Ruger Mini 14. Bought from a friend who needed money for scuba gear. It
is absolutely perfect. Also included 1000 rounds of military ball ammo.
Single six Bisley. Just purchased. Haven't shot it yet.

Am looking for a Bearcat and Mark II now.

My R's

A used P85 15 round wo/safety mod, A new P89 15 round (one of the last), and I recently bought a used P97DC which I really love. All great guns, just wish I had more cash for range time and ammo. Not small or light, but good groupings, no miss feeds/jams, easy to strip and clean.

I too love Rugers. M77's in .270 & .338, A .17HMR bolt action, Single Six .22/.22mag, Security Six .357, .41 3 screw Blackhawk.

The one I don't like is a P91DC .40SW. Even after a trigger job, still not as accurate as my Glock compact, and it stovepipe jams. I keep thinking I ought to sell it, but who would want it......

I have a couple:
Ruger Super Redhawk 454 Casull 9.5" barrel
Ruger Mark II 10" stainless
Ruger 10/22

I like them all and have no complaints. I rarely shoot the Mark II, but I can hit a squirrel at 100 yards.

Right now I only own one Ruger firearm: a Ruger Mark III Competition Target. Unfortunatly, it started jamming after about 100 rounds and couldn't get it to stop even after a several thourough cleanings, trying several different types of ammo, and different amounts of lube (some, none, lots). Sent it off to Ruger and was told it would be 6-8 weeks before they would even look at it. Bummer. Shoots like a champ otherwise.

In the past I've owned quite a few Ruger's (which suprised me when the Mark III acted up). Ones I have owned:

P94 (.40 S&W): reliable and passably accurate but also big and ugly. My first auto pistol.

GP100 (.357) with 4" barrel, stainless, full shroud: really great revolver. Wish I had kept it. If I ever buy another .357, I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

Blackhawk (.44 Mag) Stainless, 4 5/8", Stainless: Built like a tank but fairly brutal to shoot. Torqued like crazy in my hand.

Ruger Mark II Target, Bull Barrel, 5 1/2", stainless: super reliable, trigger pull was super light and crisp, very accurate. Wish I had kept it. Liked it better than the Mark III since all the new features are pretty much worthless to me (loaded chamber indicator, magazine safety, locking device, etc).

Ruger 10/22 with manlicher stock: for some reason I just couldn't love this one. It was reliable and accurate enough, and looked good. I just couldn't "feel the love".

All in all, I was very pleased with all of the Ruger firearms I owned up until the Mark III. All were built to last forever, as accurate or more so than I am, reasonably priced, and totally reliable. I put well over a thousand rounds through each (and closer to 3,000 in the Mark II) and can't remember a single misfire, FTF, or jam. The only problem I ever had was a screw that loosened up on the blackhawk (and with the recoil, I wasn't suprised).

GP 100

I recently purchased my first ruger. I bought a new Ruger GP100 stainless steel. I chose the 6" over the 4". The thing works like a champ. Haven't had a chance to put a ton of rounds through but have put an adequate amount through. I love the thing. Its like a tank. Solid as hell and looks good too. This was my first time buying a revolver. I looked at every possible make and model out there and hands down ruger makes the best ones out there. At least in my opinion. You will not get a negative comment on a ruger. Or at least I haven't been able to find one.

After shooting a pair, I bought my first New Model Blackhawk in .357 (generally shoot .38SP). Looking for the second. First time out with it, I consistently hit an 8-ring or better. What made it better was that I picked it up with my left hand and could actually shoot fairly accurately with it. Now, just so you'll understand, I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn left-handed with my S&W .357. Guess it's the grip, feel and weight difference. Now, this weekend I sight it in. More gunsmoke. YEAH!

Hello all. Newbie here. I own a P95 and I'm looking to get another one. In the past I've had a GP100 and an SP101, and I wish I still had both of them. I have a 10/22, but it resides with my father at present. Rugers have consistently proven for me to be just as reliable as the more expensive Glocks, Sigs, or S&Ws. More reliable for me than Sigs.

At present I own a scoped Super Redhawk with 7-1/2" bbl.,an old model .44 carbine and a 96/44 carbine. As far as the carbines go each has it's own good points. The Super Redhawk is fantastic and my favorite.
Incidentally,if you use Ruger scope rings you can dismount the scope from the pistol, use the pistol with iron sights and then remount the scope on the pistol with no loss of zero.I didn't believe this when I first saw it on Ruger's website so I tried it and it does work.
My SRH is almost as accurate at 100 yards as either of the two carbines.

Currently a #3 in 45/70 w/nikon 2*8 scope, 10/22 with a pro hunter rimmfire 2*8 scope and overmoulded stock, MKII in 243, Mini-14 and recently bought a well used Speed Six .357 mag. I like the Speed Six so much I had to take up reloading my own ammo!

Have traded off a 10/22, 22 cal pistol, mini-14 - wouldn't mind having them all back.
So far I haven't met a ruger I didn't like. Probably forgot something!!
