Bearcat - originally acquired new by my father in about 1963-64.
Single Six acquired last year (used in like new condition).
Mark II 10/45 bought last year (again, used but like new).

I keep the Bearcat for sentimental reasons; I was with Dad at the Miami gun shop when he bought it.

I love to shoot the Single Six in either mode; accurate as can be (given my eyesight). The Mark II is now equipped with a red dot optic sight and is a great plinker -- but a bear to reassemble after cleaning. Saw that operation referred to as "quirky" on another site and agree completely.

I just bought my first firearm at 55 years old........ a Ruger GP-100, 4 inch barrel, stainless, Hogue grips. Mainly for target practice at the range (w/.38 specials) but also for self-defense at home (w/.357 Magnums)!!

I bought a Ruger Single Six from a friend that neede $$ for a DWI for $50. When I took it to a gun shot the owner (a friend) said it was recalled but since he new I wanted a .357mag he said he would trade it and $50 for a new Ruger Mark II. I still have it and after shooting it probably 5000 times it is still in great condition!

Smile Ruger

floridawen: Sir; your years of enjoyment have just begun.
Perhaps the finest handgun built. It will handle anything you want to shoot and you'll not have a worry

I have a few Rugers...
1969 Standard pistol .22 caliber
Some M77's (One Mark II) including a .257 Roberts, .243, and 7mm WSM.

At the top of the soon to get list is a Mini 14 and Super Red Hawk in 44mag. Also plan to pick up an LCP and SR9 as soon as funds and availability allow.

The stock is made by S&K Stocks. It is a is a Walnut Laminate made from a thin center section of African Mahogany sandwiched between two pieces of Extra fancy grade Walnut the end cap is African Mahogany also.It also has a one inch recoil pad and the Ruger logo was laser engraved by S&K, they're stocks are nothing short of beautiful.

As for the rest of the rifle here is what I have done to it.

S&K Ultra Walnut Extra Fancy stock, 1 inch recoil pad and laser engraved

Trigger Work by Randy at CPC

2.0 - 2.4 lb trigger pull
Trigger and hammer side shims
Trigger over travel screw
Forward anti-creep/slack screw
Auto-bolt release conversion
Single stage pull reworked to be as crisp as possible
Oversize receiver pins installed to tighten trigger group
Extended magazine release installed

Bolt Work by Randy at CPC

Bolt is totally disassembled, cleaned, deburred
Bolt face is surface ground and squared to .0425" LR rim headspace depth; same as bolt action rifle for accuracy and reduced flyers
Bolt side is beautifully prism jeweled
A hole is E.D.M.'ed and a stainless dowel pin pressed in over the front of the firing pin to hold it from raising up, reducing flyers and to get more consistent firing pin strikes.
Bolt buffer installed.

20 inch black fade to gun metal gray compensated whistle Pig barrel.

Superior Tactical Ruger logo charging handle, rod and spring.

Leupold 3-9 X 33 EFR Gloss Black Scope

Leupold Low height rings.

To say that I am satisfied with the results of this build would be an understatement, It has been said by many people on several different websites that it is one of if, not the most beautiful classic sporter styled 10/22's they have ever seen. Although I wouldn't dare to claim that title , I do think that it does have all the character that I had envisioned when I first had the idea of putting together what I considered my vision of the perfect 10/22.

the rifle has had the honor of being the first Ruger 10/22 that Ruger put into their websites "Tricked out 10/22" photo gallery.

All in all I couldn't be happier with the rifle and the favorable responses it has gotten since I first posted it's picture on line.

My Ruger

First post on this forum, so I thought it appropriate to be on my first Ruger long gun. I just bought it two days ago and haven't even fired a full box of ammo yet, so I have no report on performance. But it sure is a sweet little thing to handle! With a compact scope, it's a full pound lighter than my Browning A Bolt/scope combo.

M77 Mark II Compact in 260 REM

All of you have some fine and "I" mean fine taste in Rugers

Something like the NY Marksman only comes around every once and awhile.

Sir: That sure did turn out nice Thanks with sharing the picture and descriptions.

Look at ''Rex Kramer's'' trapper: basic, strong, durable, and looks good. A shooters lifetime

Jakeway's got the disease too

When ya get a chance; look back @billy's; clean solid and sharp
