Looking for good ext mags for my Mini 30

I have bought a few 30 round mags for my Mini 30 and have not really liked the way any of them have worked. Has any one had any mags for these that work good or should I be looking for less capacity. I have not tried any of the polymer mags that are out. I have not had any problems with the Ruger 5 round mags that I purchased. I have tried differant types of ammo as well. I bought 1000 rounds of Wolf hollow point ammo and it dosn't feed worth a darn in the Mini 30 but feeds fine in all my mags for my SKS.

Sometimes you have to tweak the feed lips a bit on the cheaper, aftermarket mags to make them work properly...Can't do this on the polymer mags.

The Ruger factory mags seem to be the ones that work best but are more expensive. Rugers come in, if you can find them, 20 and 30 rounders.

You can check a full page of both Mini 14 and 30 aftermarket mag topics at:

"Perfectunion.com"
Go first to the general forum for Mini 14s, then look at Mags etc.

There will be some better products coming out soon.
Right now, there appear to be good reports about a new one by 'Thermold'.
This topic about Mini 30 mags has been all over gun websites since I began studying the problems last January.

The more knowledgeable claim that the smaller plastic mags (10 or 20 rd.?) by Promag tend to work well.
The three silver metal types-no name on any of them- which came with my Mini 30 were all useless. But maybe replacing a spring would help.
There are misleading comments at Internet stores which use the words "Ruger" and "factory mag" in the same sentence, but don't trust them. This does not mean that they were built in a Ruger factory.
If they are not really expensive, for example $45-60 for the Mini-14 20-rd., they are from a different company.
Ruger ONLY produced authentic higher-cap 14 and 30 mags for LEOs, i.e. Deputies, prison guards etc. The regular people only had easy, economical access to 5 rd. mags.
This has angered very many formerly loyal Ruger customers....large numbers of people. Many now own SKS or AKs instead.
