Ruger 10/22 LR need info

My father passed away a few months ago and I now have all of his guns. I was wondering if someone can tell me about this ruger 10/22 LR carbine I have and maybe about how old it is as well as a value. It has about a 18in barrel (Blue or black steel) with black stock. It has a bushnell sportview scope mounted and If this gun has been fired it has not been fired but a few times. It has a serial number of 8 numbrs starting with 247-6... Any help I would grateful for.. THANKS

Ruger 10/22 are decent shooters. Your's was manufactured in 1998 I believe. They retail used somewhere in the $150-$250 range. They're not the most accurate semi auto .22 out there. But they sure are one hell of a rife. I love mine, it's the perfect plinker, small game, back of the truck sort of gun. There are thousands of after market add ons for this model, the only ones I would recommend would be some hi cap clips. Good luck with the new toy.
