| Question about Ruger P90DC I recently bought a Ruger P90DC and after taking it to the range today for the first time, I noticed that it had a bit more felt recoil than my springfield 1911. I also noticed that with the hammer fully forward (de-cocked) the slide has positive resistance through it's full range of motion. However, with the hammer in its cocked position, the slide will move with minimal resistance for about a half inch or so, then become slightly stiffer as the rear of the slide passes over the face of the hammer. Is this normal for this particular firearm, or do I have an issue with a weak recoil spring? |

| Found this old post without an answer. I have a KP90DC and what you described doesn't sound any different from it. As long as it functions properly I wouldn't worry. If the recoil bothers you might try a set of Hogue grips on it. You have one of as fine a .45 auto's that you'll find for the price. Shoot and enjoy it.
