Cleaning my Ruger Mark11

Just wondering how other people clean their Ruger Mark series pistol or any semi auto pistol. Speaking mainly about the action. My gun is about 20 years old and I guess it probably hasn't been shot that much. Maybe 200 rounds a year.

I've never had any problems with mine and all I do is use the aerosol spray that dissolves the gunk and flows it away. Then very light Rem oil on the moving parts. Has never been disassembled.

Do you take yours apart

Do you just spray it

Do you just leave it alone

Let me know if you think I'm messing up?

i do it both ways, ,but gunblast from breakfree or similar works fine, coat with cleaner, let sit, spray, let dry, lube and put away.

Used to have a Mark II, now have a Mark III. I always take apart and clean after every trip to the range. How much time I spend cleaning depends on how many rounds I put through it.

I take mine apart to clean it every time. I feel it gives me a chance to examine the internal parts for undue wear or damage. That or I might just be to cheap to buy the spray cleaners when I am so heavily invested in Hoppes.
