Hey all,

I have been having one heck of a time locating a NIB Ruger 96/22 or 96/17. My local gunstore guy tells me even his distributors don't have them in stock.

I originally wanted a 96/22 in LR, but it seems that Ruger discontinued the 96/22LR as well as the 96/44. Shame. I wanted to acquire both rifles in time.

Anyone know about the seeming scarcity of these rifles?

They are not being produced any longer, so I am told. I have a 96/22 that I traded for at a gun show about three years ago and it is the only one I have seen. I think it is ugly but I have shot it a few times and it sure works good.
