| 10-22 I have a 10-22 I haven't shot for years. I got it out yesterday and went to the range, it seems to me the trigger is harder to pull than it was before. It may just seem that way because I've been shooting my CZ 527 in 204 Ruger, it has a very sweet set trigger. Anyway I'm looking at my 10-22 and see it could use a real good cleaning and I want to take the trigger mechanism out of the action. It looks easy enough, maybe just drive out a couple of pins. Only I don't want to open a can of worms, anyone have one of these apart? Any advise will be appreciated. |

| Getting the bolt in and out is a little bit of a trick, but the rest of it is pretty strait forward. If you think you are even remotely mechanical by nature you should be fine. Pull it out of the stock, drift out your pins, and the trigger assembly and bolt will pull out. From there it gets a little more complicated, but that should get you a good look without getting in too deep. Here is the first site that came up on a search. I did not look too closely to verify the information, but the pictures look right anyway. Good Luck! Ruger's 10/22 With pictures

| Mine isn't apart right now, but I could have the trigger assembly 100% disassembled in 5 minutes. First time taking it apart and putting it back together may be a tad hard. After that, its a breeze! Very simple once you know how it works! It needs cleaning if its been stored that long, and a very light lubrication in the trigger assemble. Not much, but a little helps a lot. About all I can say is slowly take it apart and put it back together in stages. Oh and btw, you are correct. The two smaller pins in the receiver holds the trigger assembly in. The larger pin prevents the bolt from coming out. If you push the larger pin out, you can pull the bolt all the way to the rear of the receiver and then while holding it back, the bolt can be pulled downward and will come out and you can clean that separately.
