I have an SR9 in my collection and have to say I love it. I did, however, have a some of the growing pains that have been documented elsewhere on the net. The early guns have mags that might be hard to load (mine was) and might shave off the tips of FMJ rounds (mine did). So, Ruger has redesigned the mag latch and mags. Newer guns do not have this issue. Not wanting to be outdated (early guns are not compatible with the newer mags), I ordered a $6 mag latch part from Ruger to update my gun. This future-proofs it for me and I even ordered a couple of the new mags to compare. The gun now runs flawlessly.
