Nightstand gun....Security six or gp100?
Ok I am thinking a .357 revolver would be a perfect nightstand gun........should I go security six or gp100? I think I have decided the 4"barrel is the right length.......imput/opinion would be GREAT!

Comparing apples to .... uh.... apples!
The GP100 is a tad 'beefier', but both are great guns. I have the Security Six myself, and it does occasional 'night-stand duty'.

Either choice would be great--basically same gun, different era. See which gun "fits" better for you if there are any subtile differences.

either one will make a great "night stand" weapon. Is there any other jobs that you will be doing with this handgun so you can maxamize usage?
for example, when i have shot competition in club matches and have gone hunting it is with the gp-100.
But i carry the security six for ccw and as a trail gun when camping/fishing cause of lighter weight.

Only you can decide what is best for you
and the way to do this is by handling each gun and preferably firing each gun.
It is really all about what is the best "fit" for you in terms of balance,
hand to grip match, pointability, trigger pull, and so on.

One thing to keep in mind: depending on your state of residence, if you ever have to use it from the night stand, you may loose it, even with a good shoot. Consider which gun you would more easily replace. That leads me to the GP100.

You might want to change grips on which ever you pick. Ruger still has the first tree he ever started cutting grips out, of they are small.
