sending .44 back to ruger

to get on target i had to adjust the rear sight like so.

i am sending it back to ruger on their dime Tuesday.
the ruger lady was really nice.
apparently others have had this same problem.
luckily i have 5 other revolvers i am developing loads for so i wont go through sixgun withdrawals while it's gone.

Mine did that too, and then it stopped cycling the cylinder when I tried to pull the hammer back.

Ruger totally fixed it on their dime. I called them and they even sent me a prepaid shipping label.

Took them about a month. Got it back and put a Millet Red Dot scope on it and man what a combo. Should have done it years ago.

Accuracy is amazing. The gun could always shoot better than me, but with the red dot, I'm catching up.

That is just about the grossest amount of

sight correction I have seen in quite a while. I hope Ruger gives you good service.

this is a semi common problem (though this is one of the worst cases ive seen) with blackhawks in the last 20yrs or so. its a simple matter, the barrel is not properly indexed (not screwed in so the front sight is straight in line with the rear).

Thanks for explaining that. I was wondering how it could be so far off. Now I know.

Actually Billy, they will bend your barrel to the right so the sight will be in the middle ! LOL (J/K)...

Billy I'm positive after my experience that Ruger will take care of you and on there dime. It's even nice to know they'll not only pick it up from you at your home, but will be able to send it back to you there also.

I haven't shot my New Model Blackhawk .45colt since I got it back. I finally found a box of 50 MagTech cowboy loads at a decent price and plan on getting to the range with it. Now I just have to hope I don't have this same issue, as then it will have to go back a 3rd time? Or are the odds of my Ruger very low for having this problem?

Anyhow, at what distance were you shooting to have had to compensate that much?
