10/22 pistol

Does anyone have one of them? Fin Feather and Fur is having a sale right now. One of the things on sale is the 10" barrel, pistol stock w/ bipod 10/22. Sale price is around $230. I've seen these things before and always kind of wondered what the point was.

The Ruger Charger. Seems interesting, but not for me anyways. I would rather have the full 10/22 myself or a decent .22 pistol for the same price. But, they do seem like a neat thing to have I guess.

I prefer a standard rifle or pistol. If it had a great target barrel then maybe.

The charger can be customized as much as the 10/22 rifle.
If you want a good barrel for it, I think? it is Tactical Solutions, that now have barrels for the charger.
You can redo the triggers or use the same aftermarket trigger groups that fit the Rifle.
I don't know about the chargers,, But be aware that the newer plastic trigger groups, some have a new 1 piece hammer, instead of having the bushings. So If you want to change hammers to improve trigger pull, you might need to order bushings also.

I don't own 1, but have shot a couple of them, Fun off the bench, don't think it would be a very good squirrel gun. Be a little heavy off hand.

I remember seeing a pistol version of the AR-7 rifle (I disremember what they called them at the time) in a pawn shop years back, it dident seem too good a idea then (1978) and now ruger is trying the same ploy, hope they do ok because of the mag capacity but it may flop, its like the pistol version of the M1 carbine kinda neat but not very practical.
That wapon with a laser dot sight would shure have been nice for shooting up any racoons that was thick cover next to corn fields.
Ive seen .22's used in a walking fire type shooting situation, many times I'd observed rounds walked right in on the escaping ringtails.

If I bought 1 it would be to convert it to a hm2 just cuz I can . Other than a pointless waste of money ( Thats what my wife calls my collector mentallity) I really see no point in having one .

Fun little bench gun. Lot of them sold when they came out.
