Mini-14 Old Contour Barrels Now Gone?

Rumor in my local gun shop has it that the old contour barreled Mini-14s have finally worked their way through assembly lines at Ruger, and that now only the new contour barrels are coming out.

Has anyone heard anything to confirm this?

I'm waiting on a new contour Mini-14 I ordered but evidently they're selling like hotcakes and this store's distributor can't seem to keep them in. Maybe the feeding frenzy finally cleared all the old contour Mini-14s out of the market?

What do you mean by new contour? I bought one 6 months ago and it is slightly fatter and has a much thicker area where its attached to the receiver. My old one from 1990 is thinner and doesnt have the same styled receiver also has mi carbine front sights.

The recent purchase you made is the new contour barrel, I think. The old was just a straight, thinner barrel.....some call it the "pencil" barrel.

Probably still some old styles in distributors stock but if coming from Ruger it will be the new profile.
