offline for a few days , all of you had very good points and I didn't know I would stir up a hornets nest of ruger lovers. I learned the 10/22 is the most viable survival rifle known to man , and alot of you old hicks like the ruger super blackhawk chambered in .900 mag. I guess ruger is the company to go to if you need rifles and handguns with 1892 technology.

I had a 10" Super blackhawk, I was the 3rd owner. I couldn't hit anything with it either so I traded it for a 5" Blackhawk. At 38 yards the .44 was all over the place.
At 15 yards I could cover all 6 shots with my hand.
Not good enough for me...traded that too.

My first high power rifle is a Mk II in .270.
I have taken 2 deer with it and it became sentimental to me to keep it....well might I change my mind
I won't knock the MkII, it was never supose to be a tack driver, unlike my Sako.
Will I buy another Ruger....maybe a Security Six in .357. Other than that No way.
Too many choices, better choices out there.

I have been reading this thread for a while, and just wanted to comment on my opinion of Ruger firearms. I have carried a P97 for over three years now, and I call it my battle tank. It has been beaten up, and ran through the daily gamit of carrying open and concealed, and everytime I take it to the range it preforms the way it was intented to. I trust this firearm with my life. My only suggestion to you is try some of there new products, and if you are still not happy, do not buy Ruger.

I want one of the .900 magnums and I hope it is made like an 1892 gun with real steel and not thermoplastic.

WR, I tke that as a compliment...there's so much more us old hicks know how to do then any SE PA pookie will ever know.
The guy sounds like a young city boy who has all the answers to unasked questions.

Yeah, Billy, He does seem to be a troll...but they have a purpose in life too. They keep the bottom side of rocks warm.

Oh, and for 1892 technology...now that's when they built good guns...no aluminum alloy and no plastic.
