tlarkin: You used the word zombies.
would somebody explain where gun talk about 'zombies' originated, or is it just 'inside' Internet humor? Maybe it is how bolt-action people refer to semi-auto fans.
Puzzled (as always).

Do not like any of rugers products , just sold my 10/22. .22 target pistol is a U22 berreta, mini 14 don't want to hear it. ruger lcp , didn't it get recalled right after the release , should have been made by micro$oft.

Many religions have references to the dead walk among us during the end of days. The movies always have a small group trying to survive against the hordes of zombies.
Lots of gun owners like to talk survival, and surviving a zombie apocalypse would be something very hard to do. So, naturally it has become kind of a topic of humor and some seriousness on the internet. Some people like to joke that a tactical .22 LR pistol is not adequate enough to be of any use. My response was against the zombies they are perfect.

Pick up any m77, and then pick up a newer m700, look at fit and finish, quality of bluing and floor plate construction. Hands down Ruger wins!!!

convince you? lets try a 'lil shooting match. my ruger 06 against anything you care to offer, or my sbh .44 against something comprable, or a 10/22 ? care to try?( fyi...if its not sub moa i'd think twice about pulling it out only to shamefully put it back). proof is in the targets, or the trophies on the wall.

I have always had several Ruger's and they have ALWAYS been very reliable and great shooters. If you don't like Ruger's try something else and shut your YAP! Some people like S&W's M&P semi-auto hand guns, I don't. My wife had a M&P 40 and it jammed on every magazine. Bought her a Ruger P-345 and it shoots everything that we feed it, Same goes for my Springfield Armory XD-45. So sell all your Ruger's and waste more money!

Ruger is an out of the box hunter. I build the tack drivers and have done so with the Rugers. The angled lug is a bit more tricky than the Remingtons, but, they will tune up nicely.
The pistols except for the Comp & Target are great self-defense weapons. I shoot with about any of the high end comp guns with my slab side MKII.
Ruger does not include marksmanship or common sense instructors with each purchase. This might be the reason you dislike Ruger?
I could be wrong but I think I own 6 Rugers at the moment and if a Super Redhawk crosses my path at a decent price, it will be No. 7.

I also have several Ruger handguns. I would have no problem with having more. ( The wife might but I don't).

My p95 is the most reliable 9 i have shot. I have put thousands of cheap ammo through it and it has not jammed on me once. also my womans dad reloaded a bunch of 9s for me and not one jam. would take it to war with me. that is if i ever went to war

my brother has a ruger 10/22 and one of their SA pistols and loves them. I saw him shoot a squirrel at 100 yds, with open sights, nothing special. 10/22 are the most convertible rifles out there. no other rifle has the aftermarket parts that 10/22's have. and I think that they aren't so bad. I don't own one, but he has never complained about it.

My first reaction was "Why should we have to defend Ruger?". They have been around and respected as one of the very best gun makers for decades. Ruger as a company is older than most living people. If they sucked they wouldn't be around to pass down from grand pa to dad to son. Does anyone own a Jennings or a High Point that their Grand Father bought new in 1940 and is still shooting?

I like Ruger sidearms and some of their rifles although I don't own any at this time. I'm looking foreward to a 10/22 in the near future.
My advice? Quit asking for someone to convince you to like something you don't like and not consider their opinions. I have my preferences and they're not usually a Ruger. That doesn't mean I don't like them.
Most Rugers will shoot much better than you're capable of.
However, If you want something in semi auto 5.56 NATO or 7.62X39 look somewhere else. I've owned a mini-30 and a mini-14, I no longer have either. You want a tack driving .22? Ruger will make you happy, as will a Marlin, as will a Remington.
My cousin is a Ruger NUT and has everything ruger has built, except a mini. He swears by all of them.
In short? Buy something else if you don't like them.
I think Ruger revolvers are the greatest thing since cream cheese and worth every penny you pay for them and then some. first time I fired one I fell in love with it.
I wouldn't give someone $5.00 for a mini-14/30. I'm not paying $750 for anything that I have to dump another $400 into in order to get better than a 4-6" MOA, I've been down that road with minis already. I can get a 2" MOA out of a beat up $200 SKS, or a 1.25 MOA or better with a $450 SU-16.
I think the 10/22 is an icon as is the Marlin model 60/795. My friend has a 10/22 and it's every bit as accurate as my Marlin and I'm looking foreward to getting one. They are both WELL below MOA shooters (at least HIS 10/22 is).

SR-9 and SR-556 are a step in the right direction of the company but they seem to be relying on the older generations of shooter to much I'm 30 years old and grew up with semi's and like them. I just feel as a company the haven't made it into the new millenium. FNH is always trying new things and taking risks with the unconventional , many may find there guns weird and may even fear them , but don't fear the future |

I have never found a pistol or rifle that did not benefit from some judicious stoning or fitting of the trigger mechanism. | I have found that some of the barrels don't fit tight enough in the reciever, if you can pull it out by hand then it's too loose. You can use Loc-tite retaining compound on it, it will take up the looseness. It will not come back out unless you heat it up. Let it setup for 24 hrs. before shooting. Al
