Blackhawk Herrett Grips

I just picked up a Blackhawk SS 357 4 5/8 barrel. Its a 1979 production and has oversized grips supposedly by Harrett. Has anyone used these? They seem comfortable, and are walnut, the lower part below thumbrest is fine checkered, then breaks over to smooth, but don't know how they will shoot. The revolver looks wicked with them and the short barrel. There was no box or original grip panels with it. It has the same frame as my Single Six and that doesn't feel too bad. I may pick up another pair of grips but cannot decide on a color that goes with SS. Wood does look good, but so does Ivory. Guess I'd better see how it shoots before I start spending money, it may be a redheaded step child.

I have always liked either black mother of pearl or buffalo horn.

Waiting on tax return to buy Stag grips, I have a pair for my Super Blackhawk and like them. It's blue.

Grips always seem to be a compromise for me. Do I want it to look good or shoot good. I think the SA Rugers look best with the original plow handle style grips, but I shoot better with over size grips like Harrett's or Pachmayr's.
My SBH with the big Harrett grips.

I just moved a set of Pachmayr presentation grips on it. Once I got the molding groove sanded out of the back strap it's comfortable.
I have to admit Stag looks better than anything else. Heres a Vaquero with some old stags on it.
