Honestly, I liked Ruger more in the past than I currently do. I have had ZERO positive experiences with the grumpy lady that answers the phone in the lack of customer service dept. My two newest Rugers, NM BLKHWK .45 Colt and a 10/22 Charger have both required something other than shooting right off the shelf. The NM BLKWHK front sight wasnt soldered on straight...(Gun was purchased by my wife for me as a gift so I never saw it till I owned it) and the Charger, well... lets just say with all the aftermarket parts and custom work it is no longer a Ruger, but when it was....It wouldnt do anything reliably but fail. All is well now I guess but I agree the quality control has not been so hot, and the customer service...WOW not impressed.

My best vendor experiences have been with the firearms industry. The overwhelming majority of gun related outfits go the extra mile to please. However I too have encountered that customer service gal from hell @ Ruger. Sorry for the visual! ZOBO |

Know it been awhile for this thread but I got off the phone with the prescott az location of ruger and person I spoke to said they are not closing any mfg plant for ruger and you still can not buy the 30 rd mag's for the mini through their on-line yet but some dealer are selling them and just keep on checking the website now and then to see if the mag's are their.... |

I don't know what's going on, but we can't get guns here! Our dealers are having a hard time finding anything..not just guns.. ammo is scarce too.. One dealer had a list of 5 guns .. called his distributor.. nothing.. called another.. nothing.. order ammo?? nothing!!! Have had a Ruger mini 14 in 6.8spc on order since January! |

I remember when Smith & Wesson revolvers were taking hits for their shabby fit and finish work by the gun publications back in the early 90's. They cleaned up their act, but only after Taurus quality took a quantum leap and left Smith & Wesson overpriced and panting for oxygen; free market competition fixed the problem. If the Ruger executives need a reminder in Free Market 101, then some company out there will teach them the course. | |
