I bought a 17 Mach II gun and I absolutely LOVE it. Even though someone decided it would be a good idea to hit my scope and now I have to go get it re sighted in. Made me hella mad today when I was shooting. Couldn't hit anything because I couldn't figure out where the bullets were going. I had to shoot the 7MM Rem Mag from a prone position to make myself happy. Now, my collar bone hurts.

When I was there Sunday, it was pretty open for a change, and the guys at the tables were complaining that no one was buying anything. Whenever I pointed out that the average price at the show for ammo was about 50% more than the stores and some were double, or the vendor selling strike anywhere matches at a 200% markup, they acted a bit insulted. It was like they were used to any price at all bringing a sale. Even guys walking in thought they were carrying gold.

I don't know when your friend was there, but it wasn't this past Sunday. I think maybe things are topping out as far as what people are willing to pay for a gun.

Mansfield this weekend will be interesting. The GM plant there is going to close, dropping 800 factory jobs and all the jobs those guys supported with their income. The town still hasn't recovered from the last recession, so either there will be some decent prices or everyone will be thinking they can survive on what they make selling a gun or two and the prices will be sky high. At least admission is only $4

Guns have topped out and are starting to come down. Look up AR15 and AK pricing both are now down 10%-15% from last winter's highs. The panic is over and 10% unemployment is starting to effect the market.

Ammo is still high, but its a lot easier for the "average guy" to pull out $40-$100 buck for ammo than $400-$1000 for a rifle.

Wish I had a 10/22. I would have bought one a couple weeks back, but ended up not having enough money. I had to settle on a savage, but it is a good gun. I will have my 10/22 one day. I already have a name picked out, "Squirrel buster."
