| Mounting Bipod on Mini-14?
I'm wondering what is the best location, and best way, to mount an aftermarket bipod on a Mini-14? I'd just as soon not have to remove the gas block. My Mini-14 is the stainless/Hogue version......see picture.

First, get rid of the sling swivel on the gas block. If you use it with a sling, it will significantly lower your point of impact due to barrel bending. You have a plastic stock, remove the metal stock liner and drill the stock for installation of a sling swivel stud. You need a thin nut in the stock. I have done it to a couple of them now. I like using a standard Harris bypod. |

| Of course. The liner is required to control the movement of the op rod. There are ribs in the plastic stock that provide some open volume below the liner, enough room for a thin nut to hold the sling stud. I didn't mention that because I thought it was intuitively obvious to the casual observer. Of course, what may be obvious to one may not be obvious to someone else. Sorry.
