That must be the one you told me about. Buy it LOL But seriously the barrel is a wee bit short for the caliber or is it ???
Since it's discountinued maybe the value would go up over time and be worth more than what you would pay for it now.
I don't know if you have Hogs in Alaska but that there rifle would be perfect for the hog hunter who likes to stalk and it would be a hammer on Deer to.

I wanted one, nice scout rifle setup. I think they made that in .308 and possibly 7mm-08?

No porkies here AH, but it'd be a good bear gun. JRS- I don't know what calibers it was made in, but the Ruger Scout (very similar looking rifle) comes in .308 and 7mm/08.

I looked it up, and it does come in those calibers. I also found a site that sells peep sights and front sights for this rifle.

It might be a wee bit loud with that stubby barrel. If you're in stuff so thick the barrel needs to be that short, the scope might be a hindrance.

Yep, I agree. That's why I'm looking into a peep. As a side note, it only takes 20 inches of barrel to gain the max velocity !!

For a given case size, the larger the bore, the less barrel length is needed for an optimal velocity and minimal flash. So if a certain length is considered optimal for 308, a shorter length is sufficient for 358, and a longer length would be good for 7mm-08 or 243.

The more I look at this rifle, the more I want it !! It will take a major mod to put it where I want it to be. AKA fixed sights. Any individuals done that mod ??
