LCP .380 Opinions?

I am considering getting an LCP .380 to replace my Davis Industries .380 POS that is soon to become a paperweight, or find its way to the bottom of the lake. I'm thinking of using it as a CCW gun as soon as the communist (Jim Doyle) leaves office. Does anyone have one? What are your experiences, opinions, snide remarks? Fire away! Thanks!

Just picked one up this weekend so dont really have an opinion other than this. I talked to a few people who already have them and they reccomened it highly. Paid 283 otd.

I have one and like it so-so. It's really nice and compact..... but the dao trigger is darn heavy I tend to pull my shots while squeezing the trigger.

Other than the trigger it's a very nice little pistol.

That's one of the big factors attracting me to the gun is its price. Let me know how it handles for you Mtncrash.

I've had one for quite some time - approaching a year, I think. The pistol works just fine and is plenty accurate at close range. It's certainly not a target pistol! I conceal with either the SmartCarry or with a pocket holster. I've found the LCP to be a typical Ruger: dependable, dependable, dependable. I don't find the trigger pull to be heavy, but it is sooooooo looooong! For that reason, I suggest you take it to the range pretty often and close out a shooting session with a couple of mags of ammo.

I have no complaints with the LCP. It works exactly as I hoped it would.

While it's a decent little gun, for me, it's too small for my hand, but, so is the Kel-Tec, the Bersa, not too small, but small. And right now, .380 ammo is a tad hard to find and when you do, it aint cheap...But I think if it fits your hand it'll make a perfect conceal carry or back up gun.

And like you said, the price you can get one for is very attractive. But same goes for the Kel-Tec and Bersa .380's...But lie the poster above me said, " with Ruger, you'll get dependability, dependability, dependability. But then, I don't think the Kel-tec's or Bersa's have had all that many documented problems either though???

Besides whats already been said I wish the sights were just a little bit higher than the close to non existent that they are now. I know its basically just a pocket gun but still.

I like mine though. Small, flat, and it works. its just been hard to find ammo for it.

I'm an instructor for my agency and one of our retired guys bought one and he and I went to the range for him to qualify with it. It's a nice little pocket piece and certainly keeps a fellow from violating Cooper's first rule of gun fighting "Have a gun", but the only .380 ammo he could find was some Corbonn with a LARGE hollow point and it failed to feed about every other round for a full box of ammo. I had an old box of ball ammo and we put all of it through the gun with no feed failures then went back to the Corbon hollow points and they functioned fine.

Mine chews through Remington HP's, FMJ's, and Federal Personal Protection rounds with not as much as a hickup. Mine was a recalled gun, and the trigger's better now after the work they did, but the biggest improvement was the finger extension that was on the extra clip that came with the gun after the recall work..

Really helps to stabililze the little gun inside your hand.

Luckily, I was able to find several 100 round FMJ Remington boxes of ammo since I bought the gun a bit over a year ago. It's actually a pretty fun little gun to plink with. Completely dependable, and on the occasion that I can legally carry, it's easy to hide in a front pocket holster.

I have had mine for about 6 months now. I love the little gun for carrying in the pocket. After several of the officers I work with saw mine they two have purchased LCP's. Their guns came with the finger extention mag and as soon as I held one with the finger extention mag I ordered one for myself. It really does make the gun more controlable. a couple of the guys recently qualified with the guns and did well, shot well and had no problems.

I have had mine for a week now. I have only put 50 rounds through it and had two failure to feed issues with it in the first magazine. Once I changed my grip on the gun it fed the remaining rounds with no problems. The long trigger pull will take some getting used to but all in all I really like the pistol. I will shoot it more this weekend to familiarize myself more with it.

Looked at one for a Carry piece but I really did not want to go any smaller then a 9mm. That and .380 ammo is next to Impossable to get right now so I got a Taurus PT 709 slim and I am

very happy with it.

had mine for a year love it . one thing you have to do is polish the barrel throat and ramp, clears up any feed problems you will have. i use hornady critical defence rounds.
