I bought a new wood stock/blued "Carbine" 10/22 a couple of months ago as a "fun plinker" - I have a tricked out scoped Remington 597 that I thoroughly enjoy, so wanted to keep the 10/22 a "no glass" near stock gun. So far I've polished all trigger and bolt contacting/moving parts, shimmed the barrelled action to true center line of stock, floated the barrel by sanding out the barrel trough as req'd and relieving the barrel band for clearance around barrel. The little gun was scarry accurate with just these mods using a variety of ammo, but my old tired eyes were having issues with the stock sights; so I installed an adjustable "aperature" sight setup from TECHSIGHTS - difference of night and day!! I certainly understand the enjoyment of "accessorising" but this particular 10/22 is done!! I am however looking for a "beater" donor 10/22 to build one of those M1 Carbine lookalikes - sort of a serious "accessorising" project!!
