Ruger P95 - I NEED HELP!!!

OK so i went to the range today to fire off some rounds, came back home and cleaned and lubricated after use. This is a pretty simple taks that anyone can do, I disassembled it no problem, upon reassembly though my slide locked in a position with the barrel and the spring sticking out, and it now only goes back partially, it wont go forward at all, and it won't lock. I googled this and it lead me to this website, and this post
<http://www.gunandgame.com/forums/general-handgun/58126-ruger-p95-what-did-i-do-2.html>.
The people that responded to this post said that using a hanger to pull down the ejector should do the trick, however when I pull down the ejector it locks in the complete opposite position with the slide to far forward. I'm going to attach photos as soon as I upload them on my computer right now, but if anything I'm saying makes sense without them please help.

Ruger designs are often dependent on holding the gun in a certain orientation during assembly and/or disassembly. I did pretty much what you describe with my P95DC. Sitting here at my desk during lunch time at school is not the best location to describe what I did to fix it, but here goes.

There is a little lever in the top area of the magazine well. It needs to be in an upward position when the gun is oriented the way you would normally shoot it (unless you're one of those guys who would like the sights on the side of the slide!). Yours is probably horizontal or pointed slightly down. By moving the slide the small amount you are able, you can probably find a way to get a small screwdriver or other item in there to move the thing. Don't force anything, but it will take a small amount of effort to move it. Once it moves, all will be well.

Next time, read the instructions again and again before taking it apart. I read them every time just because it's such a pain to correct the error. Either the Midway or the Brownell's site should have a diagram of the assembly of the gun that will let you see the part I'm talking about.

BTW, thanks for stopping in. Why not sign on here? There are a lot of very well informed shooting enthusiasts who are always willing to share opinions and ideas.
