Tikka customer service

Hi,

I have a Tikka T3 SS in .308. The gun shot great, the bolt is smooth as glass and it fit my shoulder well.
Unfortunately I lost the bolt when going through thick bush in the snow in August and could not find it back. I had the action open because I was crawling behind my buddy and did not want any accidents.

The rifle was sent back to the importer in Canada, Stoeger Ltd. I asked them if there was any chance to have it back before the end of the hunting season, but was told that parts orders take 60-90 days... This of course sank any hope of using the gun this hunting season.
I contacted Stoeger today for an update and only got a terse "the bolt has not arrived yet" for an answer.

I have also contacted the producer Sako/Tikka in Finland and did not even get a reply back from them.

Needless to say that I am not overly impressed with Tikka's aftermarket service. 90 days to get a part in for a common and current model would kill your business in any other industry (automotive, computers). Their customer communication also could use some improvement.

Does anyone have similar experiences with Tikka and/or Stoeger??

I have not dealt with them so cannot say. Did you email them ?? I would call them directly and press for some urgency. Take a metal detector back to the route you took.

Sorry to hear about your luck, but do appreciate your posting of the lousy service from Tikka.
I've been considering replacing my Remington SPS Varmint .22-250 with the Tikka T3 Varmint but your post was a deal-breaker. (Not that Rem's. service is that great anymore.) Seems like these companies want to reap the benefits of "global" sales, but don't want to bother with the expense/hassle of service to go with it.
Good luck!

While I love Sako's and Tikka's, I hate rude people just as much !! Unfortunately, you got some rude employee. I would follow that up with a phone call to management.

hotrunner,
Don't let one persons mishappenings be your deal breaker. It was an accident, and afterall Tikka lost the bolt. I have Never had to call a firearms company because of a bad product. Never.
Every company has an idiot and it turns out Tikka nailed more than one. Sorry Tikka.
Like Steve said, Follow up with a phone call to management and get names of the people you talk too.

Remember, Tikka and Sako still make some of the finest long arms in the World.
