Saiga, AK furniture from BattleRifle - Specialized, customized, and cutting edge

To kick-off this new classified forum, I'm proud to offer the fine members here a look at and opportunity to order customized AK furniture of my own design This is the result of a great deal of progressive experience, experimentation with new designs, and feedback from satisfied customers.

On the one hand, I am be very open minded about what to make, and I'm always eager to try new things. On the other hand, I can keep the costs most affordable on items that I have developed patterns and methods for making most efficiently.

The designs I have down pat are for the Saiga rifles and shotguns. I can make individual components or complete stock sets for any model either unconverted or converted to pistol grip with a standard AK trigger group. Grips and buttstocks will fit other stamped AKs, and I'm currently working on handguards for stamped AKM and AK-74s as well as Yugo AKs.

So here are a few starting prices. Features like finger grooves, handguard vents, buttstock knobs, cheekrests and such are all optional extras, as are certain styles that are more work intensive:
Grips start at $20.

Buttstocks for stamped AK start at $50

Buttstocks for unconverted Saiga start at $60 for classic style or quasi-pistol-grip style, $80 for target style quasi-p-grip.

Question about the Saiga. IS it only 8 round magazines? Is there a way to bump it up to high cap? I was thinking about buying one. Could you give me the run down on it?

I'll post a reply in the AK forum. The For Sale forum should focus on items advertised and discussions should be in their respective forums.

Here are some examples of complete sets for Saigas, most if not all shown here are for the 12ga:

And one of the neatest developments thus far, a Dragunov style stock for stamped AKs. This isn't the first that's been called a "dragunov" stock, but this one is designed to be as close to the original Dragunov as possible. Pricing starts at $90.

This set is ready for sale. It's made from hickory and will fit a p-grip converted Saiga-12 as is and the Saiga-20 with minor shimming.

Special price of $120 shipped and insured

Thumbs up

As a practicioner of fine woodworking, I can appreciate all the quality work you're doing in making these gun stocks, butts, grips, etc. Most people have no idea of how much work and time goes into making these pieces. The prices seem very reasonable for this custom work.

If/when I need a part replaced, I will be contacting you.

Tentatively. If I did it would be a target stock similar to this:

and would have varminter style at the front, with accomodation for the bayonet and a unique mostly-free-floating barrel mount.

BRG3, is there any way to make a thumbhole stock for a Saiga .308 without having to modify the gun?

I could make one, but you'd be stuck with the original trigger. I feel the conversion to a standard trigger group would be worth the effort. I really don't think it can be screwed up that badly. The main area people screw up is making a hole for the P-grip, which wouldn't be an issue with a thumbhole stock (at least mine.)

Ok, four questions LOL.

1. How much would the stock cost?
2. Is the original trigger junk?
3. What would be the turn around time?
4. Do you have idea what it would look like?

Since no one has asked and I didn't see it mentioned, what kind(s) of wood are you using to make these works of art, BRG3?

I am in the process of getting a Saiga .410 Magnum 3".

I think your furniture is kick ass..

I like the AK style for the .410 but can you also fab a foreward hand grip like the Bulgarian AK's?
If this is something you can do, I would definitely purchase a AK kit for my new Saiga.

I have to get a towel and wipe myself off..your damn pictures were just too much..

An AK style handguard would be a special kind of project. It would require not only wood furniture, but new metal hardware as well.

I have a one piece compromise AK style of handguard that would require a minor mod to your S-410 that wouldn't affect function and wouldn't prevent you from returning it to its original config.

When you pick up your S-410 and have it in hand, let me know and we can proceed to talk over details. Some details are hard to explain when you don't have the gun yet.

Hi Battle... I'm seeking to build a custom Saiga AK 410K model with wood. It appears you're the man. Which current available model(s) (saiga 410) can I modify with your wood?
Thanks, Claypij

I can make wood furniture for any Saiga here in the states that I know of, converted or unconverted, including the model 100 in 30-06.
