Hi new to this site , but not to the Savage rifle system. Have a 110 with a 25-06 , and .222 barrel that is factory. Have a Pac- Nor 22-250 1/9 28" no taper also. It also has a Rifle basix model 1 and 2 triggers that can be changed easily.

Picture of the rifle in it's bench rest condition.

What a Savage will shoot.

Giturgun I have a rifle basix trigger on my Stevens 110s in .270 and .223 both set at 28 ozs. What are stage 1 and stage 2 RifleBasix triggers? I'm not familiar with those two that you mention.

Savage Replacement Triggers

Rifle basix Sav 1 is adjustable to about 1 lb or so to 3 lbs rifle basix Sav 2 is from 4 oz to about 3 lbs.
My basix 2 is about 5 oz or less , haven't checked it yet.

I want to try a Sharp Shooter Supply trigger some time , they are good to 12 oz, but rumer has it Fred is working on a lighter target design . Have only heard good things about his work and parts / pieces so far.

Actually used the 22-250 Pac- Nor on G H shooting today . Only had 1 shot and it was only about 130 to 140 yds. As usual the hog didn't move , just slumped over.

I notice you're in Kingsport. I visited relatives there(Surgoinsville on the Holston River) as a child in the mid 60s for Christmas. They had 17 inches of snow.

Stevens 200 .223 cal

Okay, this is Dbletap...Hope everyone had a great Xmas and a safe one. I just recently bought a Stevens 200 .223 and will pick it up thursday 03 Jan 2008, can't wait. Now, how does one break-in a brand new rifle without screwing it up! Do I need to clean/oil it first before shooting a round through it to zero-in the scope? Please tell me what is the proper procedure of break-in a brand new rifle, thanks --- Dbletap
