Original Lyman 1A

Where would be the best place to find an original Lyman 1A sight for the 99?

Gun shows, but they maybe scarce. Other than that fleabay (ebay) where you have to out bid 1899sav who purchases every tang sight that goes up for sale. Expect to pay $150 minimum for a decent one.

You can buy a MArbles Tang sight from Brownells for the 99...$135.00 retail..The Lyman 1A's are on sale at E-Bay right now...That I know of.

Keep trying. He does take vacations and backs off at certain times. Patience will pay off, don't be in a rush if that is what you want. The marbles probably can be at your door asap if you find you need it in a hurry. Also watch for buy it now's.

Why go back and forth on the auction and run the price beyond a reasonable level? I'll throw a courtesy bid if I'm interested but I won't make the second bid until it's almost closed. I don't consider it sniping because the other bidders knew I was out there.

On Flea-bay, you have to be a "Bottom Feeder" in the last 30 seconds to win usually...I hate that place, because there are too many IDIOTS with more money than Sense Overbidding stuff I can buy from Gun Distributors way cheaper...

Absolutely true, Mooseman. Although I did spend a summer following one of those and running his bids up. Don't know if he ever learned but it made me feel good.

I got rid of a bunch of 1A's and a couple Marbles on Ebay cause I was over loaded. I'm focusing on the Savage tang sights that are harder to find. My 1899's are all wearing hard to find tangs now, it just makes the gun more interesting.

Some come on top of guns that I pick up and resell, others I get from my gunshop, the guy that works there always takes them off and sets them aside and some come from my smith who always has a handful of them if I need one.

I've been staying away from the levers lately, except for an 1895 I'm still trying to pry out of the owners hands. Getting more into the rimfires. I grabbed up a 1912 and a 1911 this past month, as well as a 1907 in 380 with the grip safety.
