| spiritual counselor ![]() ![]() | no sweat mitch, yes for a bargain basement rifle it's wonderful. to get a much more accurate rifle i have a feeling it would take a lot more money.

| The 180 Sierra matchking does work good in a 1in10"twist -06 26" barrel using either H4350 or IMR 4831 at 2700fps.but the 168gr matchking worked well in the .308 26"bbl 1in10"twist using IMR 3031 and H380 at 2600fps.Altho the -06 had a slight advantage in trajectory at 300yds and beyond the .308 shot tighter groups. These were match grade bullets and tight tolerence chambers. The loads were not quite Sierra,s max.The .308 is a non expanding chamber. To me the 180gr in a .308 just takes too much powder space, eleminating the slower burn rates that I believe would work better with long barrels.I believe I could make 180,s work if I had more freebore. sam.

i removed all traces of copper fouling yesterday and it took 20 fouling shots before the groups started to tighten up. i am not going to treat this bbl. for copper again until accuracy starts to suffer.
