savage stevens model 84 .22

Hi friends,
As I am new to this forum please forgive me if this isn't quite a proper posting, but here goes. I am looking for a replacement stock for a clip fed model 84 savage stevens .22. My Father's very first .22 and a gift to me some years later was damaged severely in a fire at our house. As luck would have it the barrel and works are fine but the stock is a total loss. As this is a family momento I am desparate to put it right. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, marko

Marko... Please have it checked out by a Gunsmith for safety sake. Every Firearm That has gone through a fire that I have examined were Not rebuildable due to the metal losing temper and springs all being collapsed, and if it was loaded, the frames warped and barrels were bent slightly... If it was hot enough to burn off the stock, it was hot enough to soften the steel.

Try doing a search for gunparts vendors such as Numrich Arms or Bob's gun parts. If no luck there, watch the internet gun auctions such as Gunbroker.com or Auctionarms.com. Also remember that many stocks/parts are listed as unknown make/model. So if you know what your needed stock LOOKS LIKE, be sure to search these auction for unknown Make/Model stocks.
Also, there are several companies that make reproductions of most American made MFG gunstocks. Do a search for "Gunstocks".

The Savage #4 is the same as the Stevens 84. Finding parts for it using the Savage #4 guide will be easier than the Stevens.
