Savage 99E

My son just bought me a Savage 99E .308 caliber rifle to replace one stolen from me in 1986 . The serial number is A329925 . I don't seem to be able to find the date of manufacture anywhere online . The best shot I ever saw anyone ever make was a 68 year old government trapper in Montana with a Savage 99 in .308 shooting a lion at 100-150 yds at a full run . He hit it right in the shoulder & from the calm & deliberate manner in which he took the shot I pretty much discounted luck as a factor .

I think it might be closer to a 1966.
I have the 99F And dropped a 4X4 white tail at 300+ yards. The 99's in my mind was the most accurate lever rifle to hit the market. To bad they discontinued the line.
