Estate Sale

I am disposing of my grandfathers estate and there are several guns in the property that I am looking for info on. One is a Savage Arms Stevens Model 58B 410 shotgun with a removable 5 cartridge magazine that has 3M etched on the barrel and is in good condition and the other is a Savage Arms Stevens Model 94 series M 12 gauge shotgun, serial # is P887417 in fair condition - it is missing the trigger quard and the stock needs to be refinished but other wise looks to be good and clean. Any info as to value would be appreciated.

The 3M is the date code, the gun was made in 1961.

Can't help much on values.

Neither of those Model numbers appear in my Savage references, but both appear as Stevens models. (Savage bought and became the parent company of Stevens in the 1920's.)
As per Gun Traders guide.
Stevens Mod. 58 .410 Bolt Action: Made 1937-38
Ex. $124. Gd. $95.
Stevens Mod. 95 single shot shotgun: Made 1965-69. Ex. $117. Gd. $87.

Fatstrat, not meaning to sound snide but what were you using for references?

The Stevens 58 although not listed in my 45 catalog is listed in the 1949 catalog as the model 258 till 1952 when Savage narrowed it down to the model 58 and is listed up till 1979 and the 1980 catalog drops it from the listings. So more or less it was made for over 25 years.

Same with the 94, it was made for a large amount of time as well, usually listed under the 220 Savage in the catalogs, the only difference between the two was that the 220 was hammerless and the 94 had an exposed hammer.
