We need to know the model, brand of scope, and condition(new or used). I bought a new savage model 93r17btv for $299.00 at dicks sporting goods. It has the Accu trigger, heavy barrel, thumb hole stock, and came with a 3x9x40 scope(no brand name). I love it.

I personally wouldn't want to use the scopes included with package deal rifles. I'd rather pick my own optics. But the 259 figure doesn't sound too bad.

Savages are good guns, I have 3.

Cant say enough about the .17HMR, I have a Rem 597M with a red dot scope and it is a very effective ky-ote gun. Now I have to get an HM2!

I bought a 93r17 used and I put a new tasco 6-24x40mm scope on it and I can hit bulseys at 100yds. I would say that it is a pretty good deal and you can always get a better scope later. I also paid $360 including the scope and 100 rounds. it is an excellent gun.
