| I would like to know if you can just change the barrel on an early take-down model 99 to change to different caliber example: 300 sav to 308 Win. also is there a .410 td barrel for 99? |

| Yes savage made factory take down barrels in 410 in 3 different styles featherweight 22" and 24" and standard weight in 26". Take down barrels can be changed but have to be fitted for the rifle (bolt head space checked etc). There were no take down barrels made in 308. The choices for factory take down would be 22 hp, 25-35, 250-3000, 300 Sav, 30-30, 303 sav, 32-40 and 38-55. You could get a custom barrel made, but that gets expensive. |
