None of the lever action savages came with an adjustable trigger. I can be polished to make is smoother, but that should only be done by someone that is qualified to do that type of work. Too much polishing or removal of material can make the rifle fire without touching the trigger. Something best left to a qualified gunsmith.

Date of manufacture would be 1950 (might be early 1951 I have a bit of a gap in my data here). Only one of 3 models EG, R or RS. R and RS have a rounded fore stock and are heavier, the EG will have a schnoble tip on the fore stock. R will have a regular sight, the RS will have redfield peep on the rear tang. Hope this helps.

Garry, On the lever boss which is attached to the receiver there will be a number and a letter facing the muzzle end. It will be small and in an oval. For 1950 it will be something like 12B for 1951 it will be 12C. The letter is for the year and the number is for the inspector. Blair
