my son has 1 in 30/30.. i think a buddy at another site has 1 in 222??? my son has used his on a high power sil. range.. he has a 2.5x10 on his...
as far as mounts look at the weaver side mount.. all i know is you will peal off skin if your not careful working the bolt..... but realy a good shooter.

as far as i can tell, the only mount available is a side mount..... the scope will be off to the side rather than centered directly over the barrel.... never having shot a small bore rifle like a .222 with a scope that is off center, i'm wondering if this is much of an issue..... i have a 30-30 that is mounted like this, and i just sighted it in at about 70 yards and figured all was good...... but for smaller targets?

for sil's the first set of targets are out at 218 yds, or 200 m. they were sighting in on clay pigons on the back stops . so thats about a 4' target??? then you move out to 300m and then out to 400 m then 500 m... not bad for a 30/30 with an offset scope.

i think i've decided to pick it up....... im new to the 22s.... i have a 218 bee that shoots like a dream.... i have, of course, several 22 long rifles, but am relatively new to the centerfire 22s ........ i'm going to go with the slogan that sometimes' less is more'..... im starting to get older and i'm looking for applied force in smaller ways..... .222 is a calibre that has fallen out of favor, but that doesn't mean that it has lost its relevance... thanks for the info fellow shooters..... i really appreciate your input..... i'll let you know in about two weeks how it shoots..... now i have to order dies, etc, etc, .... i'll probably shoot it with the iron sights first, but most likely i'll scope it later....... thanks again for the input.....

(also sorry for the double post..... i was never able to figure out how to consolidate them.......)

You must have the sidemount for your particular model/caliber.I believe midway orone of the others will have the right one.I also think if you look on the left side of the frame there are four holes drilled and tapped for the sidemount. Then there is another half that has two bolts that fasten it to the bottom half.Mine, the scope is centered with the barrel and uses any Weaver type rings. It is not offset. That,s why you must get the right mount for your mod./cal.. sam.
