Savage Model 62/Stevens Model 62 .22LR

The same buddy who messed me up by igniting the M1A fire in me has a Savage/Stevens Model 62 .22LR Semi-Auto rifle that needs a new magazine.

He has only one 10 round magazine that came with it originally. I looked at Numrich and they list them at $28.95 a pop. Is there anywhere else that may have them cheaper? I've heard from some people locally that Wal-Mart used to carry them around here until they stopped carrying all firearms and firearms components. What do y'all think? Where should I tell him to look for some mags?

And to answer my own question, Cabela's has Savage 60 Series Magazines that will work with this rifle for $17.99, however they're on backorder and won't ship for 3 weeks.

Any other places cheaper than $17.99?

I just bought a Mdl 62 Stevens today from a guy at my sportsman club....was out shooting my Marlin 39D...SLR101 AK...my laminated M44 Nagant.

Gave the guy $60 for it...4X32 K-Mart scope on it...very accurate @ 75 yards when it doesn't jam.

Will go through 2 clips with no problems then will jam up or fail to feed.

Figured for $60 I'll take it apart and see if I can get it to shoot more reliably....

R&R Arms.com have factory replacement clips( 10rd ) for $13.80 + shipping. I just aquired a Model 62 and the 64 clips work fine. Hope this helps. P.S. I can't find any high capacity clips either, so I am going to build one out of two factory clips. A welder and a little time.
