| Super Moderator ![]() | Freakish Conversion revisited In my quest for a 45-70 pump, I've been thinking a 410 shotgun might make a good basis for the conversion. Then I compared specs of 45-70 with 45 Colt at the 45-70 looks too big to fit in the magazine and action of the shotgun. I wondered if a 20ga might be the right one, adapting some parts for the smaller cartridge. Then it hit me. 28ga. Remington and Browning both make 28ga pump shotguns. I Remington makes autos too, as does Charles Daly. So what about a 28ga shotgun as a basis for the freakish conversion? Anyone have complete specs on it, like dimensions and pressure? It would seem about the right size for the same tube mag and similar bolt faces.
