prolly to old to matter, but yes ive done it. I cut a 12G H&R down to 18.25''...was a very handy size/balanced gun for home or vehicle use. Mine started out as a 26'' Mod and after the chopjob it held a pattern similar to a IC-choke if not even a lil tighter.
I enjoyed that lil gun for several years, killed some small game with it, dispatched varmints...even broke quite a few skeet-clays with it. Regret trading it more then any gun Ive ever gotten rid of LOL
one note, if u take the barrel to Min legal length...u HAVE to keep the buttstock to maintain legal OVERALL length since the breakopen action is so short. So no pistol-grips.
i have an idea, i was going to have mine cut off to 18.5 till my shop guy recommended something else. get a pistol grip from midway usa and have your barrel cut to 22" then you stay in the 26" overall and its a better handling camp or truck gun.
