| Senior Member ![]() | My brother is giving me an 835 3.5 " mossy. problem is,,,,,,,,,, 10 years ago, he had a federal 3.5" BB steel load literally take out the reciever. It seems to have blown the bolt back shredding a strip of metal from the bottom of the load port. To fix it, I need a reciever. I know they are serially controlled. But do you think it warrants a call to mossberg? Yeah, there was a warranty, but he had to go to Bosnia with the Army shortly after it happened, & he didn't get it done. Do you think this is a project worth undertaking?

| It can't hurt to call Mossberg. They might fix it. Or at least sale you a reciever for a decent price. I wouldn't spend too much on it though, the 835's can be had for $250 - $350 N.I.B. depending on what you want. I had one of the first ones but had problems with it and ended up selling it.

| Senior Member ![]() | thanx for replys I think it was a overpressure on the factory ammo. At the time I lived in AZ and recomended he contact Federal & Mossberg to work the problem together. Never happened. 10 years later, I'm inheriting the thing. I won't spend more than 50% of what it's worth. Thanks foir the heads up
