The receiver looks similar to the Excell that Marlin is importing...I would call that one the Gay version...A.H

yeah, thanks there A.H. I am sure being from AS you would be knowledable on that subject, real helpfull, anyway.... I picked it up in Turkey, near Incirlik while deployed, in 01, when the dollar vs. the lira was great, gave it to father in law as a gift, just not sure how funtional/safe the brand is, neither one of us have fired it.

I'm sorry for the poor humor comcam25...Do you see a name on it anywhere to try to track it down...I was serious about it looking like the Excell Marlin is importing. Go to the H&R web site and see if you can see any similaritys of your gun and the Excell I bet there made by the same manufacture. Have a gunsmith check it out. Do you mind me asking what the shotgun cost ?...A.H |

I've never heard of one but the engraving and wood carving looks to be fairly quality work. FWIW, the majority of the low-cost name brand imports such as Spartan (Remington), are made in Turkey by Baikal. My Brother-In-Law bought his son a Charles Daly O\U 12 ga. made by Baikal that is a great gun. The fit and finish will never equal an L.C. Smith but, neither will the price. I wouldn't hesitate to shoot it with the recommended ammo-the Turks have have been building quality guns for a long time.

Looks like what used to be imported under the name "Lanbar". Lots of the shotguns being imported today are made in Turkey. From what I hear, they seem to be pretty good guns. I like the work on the receiver - not that crazy about the stock though - personal thing. Overall, Good looking gun though.

Listen I dont care about the gay remarks, no big deal, the guy at the gun shop in Turkey where I bought it had done all the work, and its not very often you get to pick up a gun like that, which has that much work, for under $400.00 U.S., but I have never of heard of the Leopar, I have an over and under Hugulu, I bought there also, and gave to my brother, he shoots BOXES with it weekly, and would not hesitate to recomend that brand, they import alot of those over here. Just the Leopar, never heard of it, and thought maybe someone else might have some info on the Leopar manufacturer, or maybe another AF person might have picked one up while over in the area. The only marking in the Leopar on the side.
