Remington 1100 ejection problem

Helped a friend disasemble and clean his fairly new 1100.
Once back together we took to the range and tested, shells "stove pipe" half way out the ejection port when fired.
What did we put back together wrong?
Seemed pretty straight forward and had the manual right next to us.. Did i re assemble the gas system wrong? any advice is appreciated...

Sounds like the gas system. Is the O-ring still soft and pliable and installed in the groove? Here's a schematic showing the correct position of the seal rings. Make sure the bevel on the gas seal is toward the action. Hope that helps. Welcome to G&G!
